Crisis Intervention is NOT psychotherapy; rather, it is specialized acute emergency mental health intervention which requires specialized training. As physical aid is to surgery, crisis intervention is to psychotherapy.

Crisis intervention is sometimes called "Psychological First Aid (PFA)." It is designed to present the core elements of a comprehensive, systematic, and multi-component crisis intervention curriculum. This program will prepare you to understand a wide range of crisis intervention services for both individuals and group.

Fundamentals of Critical Incident Stressed Management CISM will be outlined and students will leave with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide five CISM intervention approaches and when to use each type.

Recommended for Business & Industry Crisis Intervention, Disaster Response, Education, Emergency Services, Employee Assistance, Healthcare, Homeland Security, Mental Health, Military, Spiritual Care, Traumatic stress, and, of course Chaplaincy!
