Your ordination is not perpetual, but it is renewed annually based on a simple process. Each year around October 15 we will send you a member renewal form to complete and submit. This form is due by December 1st of each year. Please be mindful of this and complete the form on time.
You will pay your annual dues by or before December 31st each year. If paid after that date, there is a late fee.
What will you document each year?
- Your contact information (Address, phone, email, etc)
- Continued membership in your church: You must maintain active membership in a local church that is in agreement with our statement of faith and in association with us to recognize your ordination. If you change churches, you will need to make sure the receiving church is aligned with and in association with us.
- Update your education to inform us of any new degrees you may have completed. We will celebrate the achievement with you!
- Verify and document your completion of required continuing education of 25 hours for chaplains and 50 hours for pastors. These must be from sources approved on our website only.
- Verify you have remained in compliance with our code of conduct and remain in agreement with our requirements and beliefs.
- Verify your commitment to our membership expectations for such things as education, progressive sanctification, collaboration, missional community, and conference attendance (as possible).
- Share something about your ministry over the past year.
- Provide disclosure in the event of a criminal conviction, a divorce, or separation from your spouse.
Disciplinary Procedures
In the event of a violation of our Code of Conduct, failure to meet expectations, pay dues on time, or if a complaint is received against one of our Chaplains, we will open a case with our Board of Directors and Ordination Council to review. During such time, the chaplain credential may be temporarily suspended until the review is completed. The process will be determined by the Board of Directors following procedures they deem appropriate at the time and as warranted by the circumstances.
